Rabbath & Summertime - Subash

Rabbath & Summertime by KatJazz

A wise woman once said to me "Bassists are worth their weight in gold."  Around this time I gave up violin for an instrument that would burn longer.  To be honest my current acoustic bass students might not push a scale past 100kg but loosing one of these guys would feel crushing.  Just before juries in December Hitesh, the bassist in big band, left KJC to return home to India.  Losing this student was frustrating and  saddening.  When he left he was probably practicing bass 3-4 hrs a day and while he had a long way to go as a musician I could tell that he close to a breakthrough.  Hopefully he is able to find an instrument and continue playing back home.  These two dual song recordings are the jury performances of my students Subash and Bijent.  Both of these guys played jazz on electric before I arrived and have progressed rapidly on acoustic.  To me they are 100kg of solid gold, collectively.
